Given how many time we wash our clothes every week, some even wash daily. It is essential to choose what detergent to use because it all adds up. Before I talk about what detergent to use, there is a more important points we need to look into, which is how much detergent to use.

Most detergent company will tell you to add more detergent than you need into washing. After all, they are here to make money. The more detergent you use, the faster you need to buy. The truth is you only need 2 table spoon of detergent for the wash. If you put more than this, it will all just going to waste, or even worse, stuck on your clothes and clog the machine. Take a table spoon and dedicate it for washing. Once you get used to the new norm of how much detergent to add, you can just add it instead of using the spoon.

When it comes to picking the detergent, there are many choices out there. Pods are convenient, but they includes more than enough detergent in there than you need so every pods is a waste. It is best to use liquid detergent that you can add yourself so you can add only 2 table spoons. Most detergents contain chemicals that is harmful to the planet and is harm to degrade. It may also give rash to more sensitive skin. It is a good idea to choose biodegradable detergents. they are slightly more expensive, but hey, you only need 2 table spoons! These green detergent are usually make with plants and biodegradable material which is a lot more friendly for the planet.
